Quetico Park Archives
The John B. Ridley Research Library houses the Quetico Park Archives. The preservation of archival materials is a priority if they are to be available for future use. The Ministry of Natural Resources has recognized this need by building an underground storage vault in the summer of 1995. This vault has temperature and humidity controls to archival standards. Where feasible, copies of archival materials in the vault are available in paper and electronic form for regular use.
Archival materials include some items in the Library resources list. Materials related to Quetico's rich aboriginal history and culture are also available. For example, a 13-volume historical photograph album series on Quetico-Lac La Croix history tells some of the story of the Lac La Croix First Nation Ojibwe community.
